Clement & Gaby’s Balboa Park Engagement Session was soooo much fun! They are such a stylish, fun, and cute couple. Although, the session almost started out in wardrobe disaster! As soon as I arrived to meet them, Clement was walking back to his car with a somewhat bummed-out look on his face. When I asked him what was wrong, he said “As we were hanging out before meeting up with you, a bird took a poo on the shoulder of my shirt! What are the odds!?!” Luckily, he had taken my advice and brought back-ups ;) Their Balboa Park Engagement Session went really well. They were very natural and playful in front of the camera. I loved how they were open to trying my ideas, and we got to shoot at some of my fav Balboa Park Engagement Session spots. I really enjoy photographing couples who are so clearly smitten… they couldn’t keep their hands off one another!!!

Wardrobe malfunction #2 happened when we were getting out of the cars at Scripps Seaside Forum. They did a wardrobe change and Gaby realized that she had left her cute jean shorts at home. Unlike Clement, she didn’t have another option! Being the incredibly dedicated photographer that I am, there was very little hesitation in my voice as I found myself saying “You can wear mine!” So I wore an extra pair of Clement’s pants (he was so well-prepared), Gaby wore my shorts, and Clement just laughed his head off. Looking at the photos, you’d never guess we didn’t plan it that way. It turned out to be a pretty hilarious moment that I doubt any of us will soon forget.

Jen shot our engagement session in Balboa Park and in La Jolla. We set a date after an initial meeting with them, they listened to us and really understood what we had in mind. We were nervous before the session, it’s not like we’re used to being models(!) but we had so much fun with Jen, she was really helping us, feeling confident, telling us what to do and the whole afternoon flew by.

When we got to the second location, by the Scripps Seaside Forum, my fiancee Gaby realized that she totally forgot her pair of jeans and Jen jumped in and said that Gaby could wear her shorts! So, Gaby wore Jen’s shorts and Jen wore my jeans (men’s jeans lol) so everything turned out perfect.

We were expecting like 10-15 good pictures, you know, the ones you can frame. Well, we got about 600 amazing pictures from our engagement session, they’re all gorgeous and different – the dilemna now is to choose which one we want to frame, but that’s a good problem to have heh. They also did an amazing job at sorting out the pictures and enhancing them.

Jen & Shane are just a couple made for photography, they found their niche and they are excellent at it. After our great experience, we decided to get a ‘rock the dress’ session as well as a ‘vixen’ session, on top of hiring them to cover our wedding day. We couldn’t be happier — no need to say we highly recommend them :)
